Breeding a mouse that had an URI
Hello! Normally I do not breed a mouse that ever had an URI, I believe this had made my mice a lot stronger as a result. However, I have a fairly important genetic code locked within a lady that just had an easily curable URI. What would you do?

Re: Breeding a mouse that had an URI
I would have no problem breeding this mouse. Generally speaking, it is a rule of thumb to breed away from any mouse that shows any weakness like that. But in your case, I think it is perfectly safe to do so, especially since you say there is a rare or important gene that she carries.
If it were something more serious, like tumors, I might have a different opinion. But since the mouse had a URI that you say was cured easily, my opinion is that it should be safe to breed from her.

Obviously the answer is then to breed her to a hardy male?
