An achievements system is active!
We will be placing a key here, so that you can see what your medal is for.
There will be some achievements that are announced, and some that are random and secret. You will receive an email when you get an achievement!
Some achievements can be earned by many people, and some can only be earned by a single person, or limited number of people.

Congratulations to Renapopma, who donated money to pay for a shipment of mice, which needed to be re-homed during an unfortunate situation. Even despite being in a completely different area of the country. Rena was not asked to give money, she offered it freely, and for that we all thank her, for helping many others in a time of need.

Congratulations to Laigaie, who organized and facilitated a large import of mice from across the seas. Many many people were interested in bringing in these mice, but Laigaie made all the calls, found all the numbers, and went through all the gates to get things moving. If it were not for her, the import would not have gone so well, and for this, the mouse community as a whole thanks her.

I did my thesis w Long Evans rats and albino mice. Worked in rodent lab for two years. Did care, feeding, testing, surgery, etc. Was a long time ago. 1986-1988. Heh. Just thought it might be fun to see who the Lab folks were. Thanks! Rena

We have added a Contributor banner! This is an award given to someone who makes a huge positive impact on the mouse fancy. This reward comes with a year of free mousery advertisement on the UMC's home page, as well as a nice red banner in their achievements section, and a little description here, telling everyone of their wonderful efforts to help!

Here's a question: is there paid advertising available for the UMC website? Out of curiosity..seems it would be a good way for the club to build up some funding.

Yes there is. We haven't 100% announced it yet. But it is available by buying a membership to the UMC. We are still working out the kinks in the system before making it officially official.

A silver membership gets you a basic advertisement, and a gold membership gets you a full colour advertisement. I can't remember exactly how we set things up, but it should be available soon.

I was a vet tech 20 or so years ago, does that count???
