Bleeding from Vagina Empty Bleeding from Vagina

My 1 year old female rat is bleeding dark thick blood from her vaginal area. She had signs of URI. None of my three vets can see her. What is this? What should I do?

You mentioned she had signs of a URI; could be genital mycoplasmosis. Other possibilities are a uterine tumor or UTI. Aside from taking her to the vet, I would start her on antibiotics asap, preferably enrofloxacin. If she's not responding to it after 2-3 days I'd add doxycycline to the regiment. This chart is very useful. If you haven't already quarantined her I'd highly advise it. Good luck, hope she gets better soon.

Hey, Thanks for the help.
I was able to get in at one vet and they thought it was most likely a growth in her uterus bursting or rupturing. It was a total hemmorage, not like what they thought Myco would look like. There was a lot of blood. The vet said that she was likely having trouble breathing because of stress/pain.

The only option would have been a spay and she was, in my opinion, to weak to have surgery, so I had her euthanized. Upset She had a disability on top of this problem too. It was so sudden. I did not know she wasn't even feeling good until yesterday. I'm really sad.

Thank you guys. It's been a long day. Her condition was that she was blind and as a result didn't really want to be touched or played with. I tried to keep her happy for a year and I still loved her even if we didn't snuggle up too often.
It is hard for me to decide to get an animal PTS out of the blue! It's always a little easier when it can be planned.
