Well, to my delight I have realized over this weekend (my babies will be three weeks on the 12th) I have angora fuzzies in the litter. I am sooo happy. On of the mice has a tail that is alot longer than its body and very big ears. Ok, they may all be males (I am actually thinking I may have a female or 2) BUT, I got angora fuzzies. Oh, I checked for nipples at 1 week, did not see any, that is how I judged only having males. Now 4 of them have dropped they manly parts, could the other 2 be females???? Or Are they just late bloomers??? Should I check for nipples again at a later date????

Your best bet is to check for the distance between the anus and genitals. It's not the easiest thing to do, but since you have "confirmed males" you can easily use them as a reference to tell the difference between the males and females. If the distance of the females will be a lot smaller than that of the males.

Sometimes I do get confused when doing it still and I've been doing it awhile. I find it the easiest to confirm the sex of a male and then compare to the rest of the litter Happy

What about not seeing nipples on the mice??? I thought you should see nipples if they were girls???

Around Day 11 belly hair comes in well enough that you can see the hairless part around the nipples. Then it grows longer and grows over them. If you take your finger and part their hair, you can still see them. Ano-genital spacing usually is more reliable with babies older than two weeks.

I would love to see pix of these angora fuzzies! I cannot begin to imagine what they look like! Post some crotch shots, too, so we can give our gender opinions.
